Spectrum on Tuesday announced a $1,000 donation to Vegan CNY through the company’s national community philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.
The funding is dedicated to the organization’s annual Vegfest 2023 and other gatherings assisting with meal planning and education.
"Vegan CNY is glad to receive this grant from Spectrum, which will help us continue to offer hot, healthy meals to food insecure families in the area, as well as provide some seed money for our annual fundraiser event Syracuse Vegfest,” said James Thompson, vice president of Vegan CNY.
“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re proud to provide support to vital community organizations with which our local employees are already volunteering their time and talent,” said John Connor, area vice president, field operations for Charter Communications. “Together, we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work across America.”
Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided funding to nearly 400 local nonprofits in 32 states throughout the company’s service area since its inception in July 2019. Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training and neighborhood safety.
Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s more than 101,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
