Michael Burham, a Jamestown murder suspect who escaped Warren County Prison over the summer, pleaded guilty to a slew of charges Thursday, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry.

AG Henry says Burham pleaded guilty to kidnapping a Pennsylvania couple while attempting to escape a murder investigation in New York and escaping prison in July.

Burham is accused of murdering Jamestown woman Kala Hodgkin.

“The defendant was on the run for nine days in an attempt to evade justice,” Henry said in a statement. “I commend the efforts of Pennsylvania State Police who took this defendant into custody, as well as my team, the Warren County District Attorney’s Office, and the City of Warren Police Department, for their work in holding the defendant accountable for his many crimes.”

Burham, 34, fled the Warren County Prison on July 6 by climbing on exercise equipment, climbing through a window and then down a rope fashioned from jail bedding, authorities said.

He is scheduled to be sentenced in Warren County in January.
