Three teenage girls were shot on Syracuse’s North Side Sunday night, with one, a 16-year-old, left in critical condition, according to police.
Michael Brown, 23, was arrested in connection to the shooting. He was found on Peters Street after fleeing the scene, police said.
Brown shot into a Hyundai that had been stolen from the 1800 block of Grant Boulevard earlier Sunday night. Brown is related to the owner of the stolen Hyundai, police said, and he searched the area after it was stolen. He shot the 16-year-old in the arm and midsection, one 14-year-old in the hip and another 14-year-old in the leg.
Police patrolling around Greenland Drive and Harold Street were flagged down by the car’s drivers shortly after the shooting. Each shooting victim was taken to the hospital, with the 14-year-old victims expected to survive while the 16-year-old is in critical condition, police said.
