Three people were hospitalized after a house explosion Saturday afternoon in Sullivan County, New York State Police said.
Police say a propane leak at a home on James Place in the town of Thompson before 12:30 p.m. Saturday triggered the explosion. Several neighboring homes were also damaged, they said.
Officials say the explosion does not appear to be criminal. Those injured — a 36-year-old man and two children, ages 5 and 9, who all lived at the house — were taken to local hospitals, and state police say they're in critical condition "with multiple injuries."
Crews are continuing cleanup and demolition on Sunday, and an investigation is ongoing.
