The state Department of Motor Vehicles is selling new, specialized license plates for 10 regions across New York.

DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder introduced the plates on Wednesday in Albany.

New York has seen many recent changes to its license plates, most notably with the switch from the blue and yellow ones to the white ones that feature both upstate New York and New York City.

The DMV's exclusive Albany area plates show the state Capitol and Empire State Plaza. There are also new plates available in Saratoga and Schenectady.

Some proceeds from the license plates will go to local charitable foundations.
