Syracuse Police have arrested a man who they say organized the street party that turned violent early Sunday.
Police announced the arrest of 19-year-old Deyoncee Page of Syracuse on Tuesday. They claim the party "violated multiple sections of the local law ordinance and resulted in hundreds of guests crowding the street, ending with a large disturbance."
Police say Page was released on a local law appearance ticket.
At least 13 people were injured Sunday when the party turned violent.
Officials responded to Davis Street for a shots fired call at around 12:22 a.m. Sunday. Police found a large gathering of about 200 people in the area of Davis and Massena streets.
Syracuse Police Lt. Matthew Malinowski said at least four people suffered gunshot wounds and five others suffered apparent knife wounds. Police say the three other victims were apparently accidentally struck by vehicles trying to flee the scene. All of those injured, three males and 10 females between the ages of 17 and 25, are expected to survive, Malinowski said. The 13 known victims were located on the street or later at hospitals, police say.
Those shot include a 22-year-old woman who was struck in the abdomen, a 17-year-old girl who suffered a wound to her hip and midsection; a 20-year-old woman who was shot in her right hip and a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to a forearm.
The stabbing victims include a 25-year-old woman with multiple wounds to her shoulder and midsection, a 17-year-old girl with cuts to a leg and arm, a 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy who both suffered lacerations to their heads and a 24-year-old woman with cuts to both legs, police said.
Those injured by cars suffered from cuts and abrasions, police said.
Anyone with more information is asked to call Syracuse Police.
