The Onondaga Community College is preparing for Micron's arrival.

The county Legislature unanimously approved the addition of a clean room at the college on Tuesday. Clean rooms are used to manufacture semiconductor chips, and will prepare students to work at Micron, officials said.

The school is putting $5 million toward the project with a $5 million match coming from the state.

The clean room will be vital as OCC prepares its cirriculum for associate degrees.

Also during the meeting, Dr. Darrel Dykes was approved to join the OCC Board of Trustees.
