Suspended Baldwinsville Central School District Superintendent Jason Thomson has pleaded guilty Thursday to a driving while ability impaired charge, according to the Baldwinsville Village Court.
Baldwinsville police arrested and charged Thompson, 48, in October with the DWI following a high school football game, where a viral video showed him crowd surfing through students.
Several students also reported that the superintendent smelled like alcohol, said Baldwinsville Police Chief Michael Lefancheck at the time of the incident.
The DWAI charge Thompson pleaded guilty to is lesser than a DWI charge. Since that time, the district Board of Education placed Thompson on administrative leave.
Onondaga County Senior Assistant District Attorney Frank Pelosi says under his guilty plea, Thompson is to pay a $500 fine, $260 surcharge and complete the Victim Impact Panel. Pelosi also says he is to enroll in and complete the Impaired Driving Program through the state Department of Motor Vehicles, receive a 90-day license suspension and be sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge.
