A new mutual aid agreement is coming to Onondaga County municipal police departments after a year of planning.

Agencies now will share resources that they said will lead to better pre-planning and efficient responses to critical incidents or catastrophic events.

"We might be able to also do training together in the future, develop a county-wide task force or be on the ones that current exist specifically for towns and villages and municipalities," said Onondaga County Chapter Chiefs of Police Chairman Michael Crowell.

Crowell says the Town of Manlius is the only municipality not to sign the agreement.
