It was week zero of the high school football season, and some teams were scrimmaging, while others just dived in.

Reigning state champions CBA was one of the teams who went straight to work, kicking it off with Section II's Shaker.

In the second half, Jordan Rae dropped it right into Jason Brunson's breadbasket for a 21-yard score.

The Brothers were up 26 to 12.

The Bison kept it close, but Jamier Handford broke away for a 69-yard touchdown run.

Shaker kept clawing. But on fourth and short, Brunson made an outstanding open-field tackle that sealed the game.

CBA opened with a win by grinding it out 32 to 25 over Shaker.

"I feel like the whole team just came together as one today," said Handford, a CBA junior. "The whole line did a great job blocking. I couldn't have asked for better blocking."
