Onondaga County health officials are raising the red flag to swimming at Oneida Shores, as high levels of the bacteria E.coli have been detected in the swimming area.
The health departments says that swimming will not be allowed on the beach there until levels decrease. The department says the water is tested daily to ensure acceptable standards of cleanliness.
For now, officials are encouraging families to visit Jamesville Beach Park for an opportunity to cool off in the water.
