The Syracuse women have had their meeting with Boston College circled on the schedule for a long time. It was the regular season finale and a rematch of last year's national championship game, where the Eagles edged the Orange by six.

It was also a homecoming for SU women's lacrosse coach Kayla Treanor, who was an assistant for the Boston College team that won the title in 2021.

SU trailed 13-8 early in the 4th quarter, but rallied to get back in it. They scored four quick goals, including a top-10 worthy goal by Meaghan Tyrrell to make it 13-12. That was the closest they would get to the Eagles in a 15-13 loss.

Tyrrell and Emily Hawryschuk led the Orange with eight goals on the night. Next up the Orange will start up postseason play with the ACC tournament as a three-seed. They'll play six-seed Virginia on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, the men hosted reigning national champion Virginia. SU struck first, but the Hoos went on a 5-0 run after that. Once that happened, SU was unable to recover. They did make it a one-goal game in the second, but the Cavaliers came out on top with a 21-15 win.

"I thought at the beginning there, we could have played with a little bit more energy. I challenged these guys this week to bring energy every day and focus on those constants, the efforts, the execution, and really the fundamentals," SU men's coach Gary Gait said after.

SU will close out the season next Sunday when they host Notre Dame at noon.
