In a comfy chair, with or without a cat or dog, is where you can find Richard Faith. Usually, he is writing. Faith is an author. In his children's books, and in his own life, he's passionate about saving the world.

"I drive a school bus for Christian Brother's Academy and kids give me hope for this planet. I need to give them a planet that still has hope," explained Faith.

His mission: helping future generations join the fight against climate change and global warming.

"I've always been a fan of a clean planet," he added.

His new book "Bee Scared," is a kids book that not only entertains, but educates about why bees are disappearing. With the help of "Doc Turtle," a familiar face in Faith's books and "Auntie Bee," kids learn about the importance of bees and conservationism.

"I love this book because we bring the kids into the conversation," he explained.

The idea for Faith's kids books came to him in a dream. With a handful of published books and another on the way, he's not stopping there.

"Mother Nature festival is an organization of very dedicated people," said Faith. "They are adamant that we need to stop global warming to affect climate change."

As executive director of "Mother Nature Festival Live Inc.," a non-profit, Faith's mission to stop global warming steps off the page and onto the stage. The Mother Nature Festival will be in September for the first time ever in Oswego.

"We want to enlighten educate that climate change is the accumulation of what's happening in global warming," he said.

The Mother Nature Festival theme song may be Kevin Silvers' "Mother Nature SOS," but Faith is ready to turn his global warming awareness mission into action and save our planet.

"It's not just for me, it's not just for one person, it's for all of us," said Faith.

The Mother Nature Festival is set for September 16-17, 2022. A fundraiser, concert and conference will also be on Earth Day, April 22, at the Oswego Music Hall.
