The leaves are changing and reaching their peak in the Adirondacks, and these days, hiking isn’t the only way to admire them.

Michael Dupee is one of the founders behind a unique rail biking experience at Revolution Rail Company.

“There’s lots of beautiful places in the world, but there’s probably none that are any better than the Adirondacks,” Dupee said.

This time of year is a big draw for leaf peepers of all ages, who pedal their way through the Adirondacks and a kaleidoscope of colors.

“I grew up in Vermont, so I’m a little bit of a foliage snob … and I just love it out here," Dupee said. "As we pedal through the woods, it's kind of like a leaf tunnel.”

Dupee says the stretch of historic track has stood the test of time.

“The main railroad is well over 100 years old and the one we’re riding on right now, it’s coming up on 100 years old," he explained.

Dupee assured us just about anyone can have fun on the rail bikes.

“We’ve had riders as old as 96 and we’ve had infants that ride right on the chest of mom or dad,” said Dupee, who has been doing this for nearly five years.

He says that they’ve had nearly 1,000 rides on the tracks, and for him, it still doesn’t get old.

“It’s a beautiful run, relatively flat, incredible scenery all through the year. People come back glowing because they got amazing pictures and memories ... and are just so thrilled with what they just got to experience,” said Dupee.
