Service on Metro North's Hudson and Pascack Valley lines is still suspended today. MTA officials say Ida led to significant damage for the tracks and infrastructure.
Service is partly restored on some of the other lines, including Port Jervis and Harlem, but even on restored lines, some stations may be closed.
The MTA says it hasn't yet returned service to the Wassaic branch of the Harlem line.
A Brooklyn man traveling to Beacon says he was struggling to find an alternative way home in the aftermath of Ida.
"I think we’re gonna head back to Beacon if we cannot find a kind of appropriate sort of way to New York City. We're disappointed because we want to get back to New York," said Andre Porter.
The MTA says crews are still working to address the damage.
