If you’re heading to the New York State Fair this year, you won’t be able to pay for your ticket with cash at the gate. You can buy them online ahead of time or over the phone.

On the fairgrounds, self-service kiosks will be located at gates one and 10 for ticket purchases.

The fair will also have large signs with QR codes that you can scan to direct your cell phone to the ticket purchase website.

As for parking, you can pay with a credit card in each lot or with EZPass Plus in the Orange and Brown lots.

Admission to this year’s fair is $3 and parking is $5, while kids under age 12 and seniors age 65 and up get in free every day.

This year’s fair runs August 20 to September 6. It’s the first time the event will go for 18 days.
