September 2, 2019, was the last time fans saw the Binghamton Rumble Ponies play at NYSEG Stadium, but that all changes tonight.

The Rumble Ponies are set for opening night against the Altoona Curve, and while it's definitely an exciting time for fans, tonight also comes after a year of questions.

When cuts to Minor League Baseball were announced, Binghamton was one of the franchises that many believed was on the chopping block. Instead, the team has returned for its 28th season in the Parlor City.

The Ponies will play a 120-game season with 60 on the road and the other 60 at NYSEG Stadium, giving fans all the more time to enjoy America's favorite pastime.

"We've gone over 600 days here at Rumbletown since we've seen a live baseball game, so I think it's just everything seeing the players take the field tonight at 6:35 and then just seeing the fans come out throughout the season to support the team," said Eddie Saunders, the Rumble Ponies' community relations director.

Fans will have to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test or vaccination card upon entry, as mandated by the state.
