It's two words Syracuse sports fans have been waiting to hear: "Play ball!"
And there will be a lot of new features at NBT Bank Stadium for fans to take in.
It's hard to believe, but the last time fans were here for a Syracuse Mets home game was in September 2019. One of the changes you'll notice right away is the main gate, where there's a brand new entranceway.
Mets General Manager Jason Smorol says the upgrades are part of a $25 million construction project.
Fans will instantly notice new amenities like a new deck area and banquet room in right field along with a new bar area in left. Other upgrades include a new field, bullpens, seats and lights.
Attendance will be capped at 20%, or 2,163 fans, to begin the season. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, April 20, but fans can take advantage of a virtual open house tonight.
You'll be able to go into a Zoom chat room by clicking a link on the Syracuse Mets website at 7 p.m.
"It's going to be our manager Chad Kruder talking about the staff, potential players, we'll talk about all the COVID protocols, we'll talk about ticket sales. We'll do a stadium tour virtually with our drone, and we'll open it up to questions and answers, talk about some of the promotions and some of the things fans can expect this season," Smorol said.
Smorol says the Mets Chat link will open at 6:45 p.m. tonight on the Syracuse Mets website. The Mets will play 60 home games this season, and tickets will be sold on a month-to-month basis.
Fans will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in order to get in on opening day May 4.
