Just a few weeks after being exposed to carbon monoxide, Syracuse Police Detective William LaShomb has passed away.
LaShomb was a member of the force for 13 years. He started as a patrol officer and worked his way up to most recently becoming a member of the gang violence task force.
LaShomb was with his girlfriend on a boat last month in Sylvan Beach when it filled up with the poisonous gas.
He was in the hospital for a week before being released into hospice care. Hundreds of police officers honored him with a procession back home.
His girlfriend, 34-year-old Blair Dodge also passed away after the incident.
