We've reached the five-month mark since New York reported its first ever coronavirus case and transmission remains low.

State officials announced yesterday that nearly 83,000 tests were conducted in a 24-hour period. That's the most the state has done in a single day.

Less than 1 percent of individuals tested positive.

As of Friday, 581 people were hospitalized with coronavirus. Four New Yorkers died.

More than 25,000 people have died from coronavirus here since the pandemic began.

In a conference call Saturday, Governor Cuomo said the SLA has suspended more New York businesses for violating coronavirus guidelines.

He also said as he continues to monitor the virus, about 650 out of 700 schools have filed school reopening plans. New York City is not one of them.
