The Central Square Little League Board President Daryl Theetge has been removed after members say he was stealing money from the league.
The board noticed delays in reporting expenditures, and after conducting an internal audit, it was discovered that $14,000 was missing.
Theetge has been banned from coaching and league activities for one full year. Vice President Kevin Jackson has since taken over as interim president, and state police are now investigating.
The board released a statement that said in part, "We are all doing our best to make the most of this for all of our children in this community, and to ensure that the actions of one individual does not ruin a sport that so many love."
