Approximately 130 million Americans have already received their stimulus money. That totals more than $200 billion, but millions of people are still waiting for their check.
The IRS advises to shorten your wait time, and register your banking information on its website for your direct deposit. But you need to do it before May 13 at noon. They have issued a deadline for inputting direct deposit information.
Certified Public Accountant and Senior Counsel John Marshall of the Bonadio Group advises those still waiting to listen to the IRS and input your direct deposit information. There will be a difference of the turnaround time of the direct deposit and waiting for the check in the mail.
Marshall added that tax filers and non-filers have the same deadline of May 13 at noon to input their direct deposit information.
