The National Geographic celebrates Earth Day year round in classrooms across the country.
Since Kids won’t celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day with their classmates, this year The National Geographic created a website for parents to celebrate the earth and animals at home. The website is completely free and includes personality quizzes, live broadcasts with scientists and videos for parents to share with their kids.
“NatGeo@Home” releases new materials every day for parents to use with their kids. Nat Geo Kids Editor-In-Chief Rachel Buchholz, says they launched the website to support the entire family.
"There really is something for everyone there. It could be a game, it could be an article, it could be a video. There’s just a lot of really neat stuff that kids are going to find fascinating and inform them about the world around them and keep them learning during this time," said Buchholz.
She says this website is specifically for parents to help their kids, pulling information from Nat Geo Kids and from their education site and can be used as a curriculum or whenever parents need to set their children up to learn while they work.
