Parts of the North Country continued to receive the brunt of lake effect snow Friday, with some areas easily picking up over a foot of accumulation.

Travel conditions in portions of southern Jefferson, northern Oswego, northern Oneida, Lewis, southeastern St. Lawrence, northern Herkimer, and Hamilton counties will be dangerous if not near impossible with the combination of new-falling snow and wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.

Numerous schools across the region were closed on Friday.
