29 animal welfare groups will receive a total of $1.8 million thanks to the Save a Life campaign.

The fundraiser is put on by the Staffworks Fund and Community Foundation. It raised the money in 29 days, nearly doubling what it raised last year.

"We need the community to constantly rally behind us and support us. Whatever you can do, volunteer, foster, adopt, promote spay and neuter, write a check, whatever you can do to help this mission," said President and Founder Staffworks Fund Anita Vitullo.

The organizations are in 13 different counties from the Southern Tier to Central New York.
