It’s been a month since the Halloween storm left a trail of devastation throughout the Mohawk Valley.
Communities in Herkimer County were among the hardest hit in the region.
But this weekend, help is on the way.
Sunday, there will be a benefit to raise money in support of flood victims in the Kuyahoora Valley.
The event will be hosted by the Poland Volunteer Fire Company & Auxiliary, Newport Fire Company and Middleville Fire Department.
It runs from 1:00-7:00pm Sunday at the Poland Firehouse.
Proceeds generated during the event will be donated to the Kuyahoora Valley Foundation.
"I think it'll be very helpful. Cause these people are struggling and I don't think people realize how bad these people are struggling. People are too proud to come forward, and I think they need to come forward so people know that they need help,” said Sandy Coffin, Treasurer of the Kuyahoora Valley Foundation.
Event organizers are also accepting food and raffle basket donations.
During the benefit, several musical acts will perform, including The Swamp Divers, Dust Devil Band, Caged Fury and Sound & Music by Chris Conover.
More information about the event and how you can get involved is available on its Facebook page.
