In response to the incidents of racist graffiti at Syracuse University, a new clothing company is trying to increase local pride.

SYR Clothing Co. launhced its "Stronger Than Graffiti" line last week. All the proceeds from the designs are going to the Syracuse Rescue Mission.

The company is co-owned by a local couple, Matt and Taylor Sourwine. Taylor is a teacher with the Syracuse City School District. She says the recent incidents inspired her to do something good.

"We can’t end everything that's been going on," said Sourwine. "But we can show these people who have created this graffiti, and have created problems throughout the years- that together you're not going to tear us down. We're just going to keep growing stronger and stronger."

For all the company's other designs, a portion of proceeds are donated.
