A judge denied a temporary restraining order that would have blocked the state's emergency ban on e-cigarette flavors. Governor Andrew Cuomo's senior advisor shared the news on Twitter Friday evening.
This means the ban will remain in effect.
The lawsuit from three vaping groups claimed people were not getting sick from the flavored products and the ban could be harmful to those trying to kick a traditional smoking habit. They also claimed nearly 700 businesses would have to close in the state because of the ban.
Cuomo hopes to expand the ban by including menthol flavored e-cigarette products as well.
