If you're looking for a job in law enforcement, there may be an opportunity for you at the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

Entrance exams for the Road Patrol Division must be applied for by the end of the business day on July 26. The exam will be given on September 14. Applicants must be at least 19-years-old on or before the exam's date, have a high school diploma or equivalency, and live in Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties.

Entrance exams for Correction Officer positions must be applied for by the end of the business day on August 9. The exam date is September 28. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old on or before the date of appointment, have a high school diploma or equivalency, and live in Oneida, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oswego, or Otsego counties.

The sheriff said law enforcement is a rewarding field to enter.

"This is one of those careers where you're always making a positive difference in someone's life. Whether you're a Correction Officer on the inside or a deputy on the outside, you have an opportunity to do something good for people, to help people in a time of need, to help keep the community safe," said Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
