The start of June means it's time to break out the spade and shovel. A local flower shop has more to offer than just plants for your lawn. Crazy Daisies Flower Farm's goal is for everyone to leave with a smile.

Thirteen years ago, Jennifer Cox opened the Onondaga shop on Kasson Road. More recently, her longtime friend Kelly Maclachlan joined the team after working in addiction treatment.

"I thought that's where I could really help and make a difference," Maclachlan said. "But then I realized that I couldn't save everybody, so coming back here has really given me the freedom and the ability to reach out to people."

She says it's her goal for everyone to leave the shop happier than when they came in. From the groom she gave a custom bouquet at half price, or the dog hater who fell in love with their pups Blue and Elliot.

The greenhouse boasts a sign that reads "No Trespassing - Crazy Women at Work," something Cox says the shop lives up to.

"We're just real people doing real things in real time. We're not magicians," Cox said. "We can't make your flowers look better if the sun doesn't shine. We can’t make your food cook faster if there's 20 orders in front of you, so it's just real."

It's not just real flowers, its real food too.

Last year, the shop sold breakfast sandwiches on weekends and now there's a full café open on weekdays, selling locally sourced ingredients.
