Former "Seinfeld" star Jason Alexander is coming to Central New York to put on a show.
The actor who portrayed George Costanza on the hit sitcom will be directing the musical "The Last Five Years" at the Syracuse Stage. It's about two young New Yorkers falling in and out of love.
Alexander will be the first to say that his nine-year run on "Seinfeld" gave him new opportunities in his career.
"To have a film, television, directing career and all that other stuff and then to be on something that becomes a "Seinfeld," it opens a lot of doors and it enables you to walk by a lot of doors without thinking about it," Alexander said.
Alexander is excited to tackle "The Last Five Years," written by Jason Robert Brown.
"By Jason allowing me to have two actors play each roll even though two of them don't speak, it's already a production that doesn't look or sound or come off like anything else that's ever been done," Alexander said.
The show starts May 31 and will be here for a three-week run.
"Come see the show. You don't just have to report," Alexander said.
