Crews have recovered two bodies in a drowning inciddnt in a pond in Madison County.
According to Madison County officials, the call came in at 9:18 p.m. on Wednesday near 3511 Graves Road in the Town of Stockbridge. The initial call came as a missing person in a private pond on somebody’s land.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said that two adults and two children were on a floating dock when the dock capsized, causing two children and one of the adults to fall into the water.
One of the children surfaced and was rescued but the other child and the other adult never came out of the water.
Dive teams searched the pond. They located one of the bodies at 10:05 p.m. and the other at 10:15 p.m.
The Sheriff's Office identified the victims Thursday morning as Feldy Miller, 12, and Rudy Miller, 21, both of Oneida.
Both Feldy and Rudy were pronounced dead at the scene and then transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office so that autopsies could be performed to determine the cause of death. The other child was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Munnsville Fire Department, Smithfield Fire Department, Madison Fire Department, and Cazenovia Fire Department as well as divers were at the scene.
