Syracuse firefighters said there were no injuries in a house fire that broke out on the city's south side Thursday morning.

The fire started around 5:30 a.m. on West Bissell Street. Crews were battling flames in the attic.

Four people got out of the home but they were still inside when crews arrived.

Firefighters said they found the residents trying to exit through the smoke and flames and helped them to safety.

The fire started in the ceiling of the second floor but they're still looking into how it started.
