If you're sick of spam calls, you're not alone.

Congressman Anthony Brindisi says current methods to stop them aren't working. Brindisi is co-sponsoring the Spam Calls Task Force Act to make an interagency task force that would be in charge of finding a solution to the ongoing problem.

He also wrote a letter to the FCC, supporting updating the Truth in Caller ID rule and cracking down on robocalls from other countries.

"Basically, what this rule would do, that the FCC is proposing, which I'm asking them to move swiftly on, is extend their authority overseas to these unwanted robocalls so they now can go after these companies even when they decide to move overseas," said Brindisi.

Brindisi encourages constituents to share their thoughts on this rule with the FCC.

This week is National Consumer Protection Week.
