A Rome man is facing several criminal charges after a lengthy slow-speed police chase Wednesday afternoon.
New York State Police said they were forced off the road by a log skidder while investigating an argument between a father and son in Rome.
Troopers said the suspect, Charles Anken III, was drunk behind the wheel of the skidder and trying to catch his father's pick-up truck.
They found him on Pennystreet Road just before 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Once they were back on track, police said they followed Anken through a field and into the woods.
He was charged with reckless endangerment and DWI, along with other traffic violations.
