Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is seeking re-election for his fourth term.

When announcing his decision, Picente spoke about his time in office so far. That includes changes at the 911 call center, creating the Nexus Center, and partnering with Mohawk Valley Health Systems in the city of Utica.

"You know we got all the pieces that can move forward, in terms of healthcare the economy the strong tourism, the strong work of the Oneida Nation all of that comes together," said Picente.

Running against Picente is Republican candidate David Gordon who released a statement saying, “As County Executive, I will push for term limits. This includes a two-term maximum for the position of County Executive. We don’t need career politicians running our county; it’s time for a new direction”.
