After two recent water main breaks, the Village of Ilion remains under a State of Emergency.

But they're getting help from New York State.

The breaks have been repaired, but neighbors are still under a Boil Water Advisory. Governor Cuomo visited the Herkimer County village on Thursday, promising to invest in water infrastructure and ordering 40,000 water bottles be sent.

Water can be picked up at the Municipal building and each household is allowed two gallons per week.

"It's good to be able to come here and get water for my family, but at the same time, we want the problem fixed,” said Justin Maggiolino, a resident of Ilion. “The Ilion water problem is no secret. It's been going on for quite a long time, and as a resident here it's getting kind of tough to keep dealing with. It's always something new."

Water can be picked up during normal Village office hours between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., or this weekend between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
