UTICA, N.Y. -- Musician Jon "Bowzer" Bauman paid a visit to the Mohawk Valley with politics on his mind.

Bauman is a member of band, "Sha Na Na", and the president of the Social Security Works PAC.

He joined Democrat Anthony Brindisi at the North Utica Community Center on Tuesday for a talk about social security.

Brindisi is facing incumbent Republican Claudia Tenney for the 22nd Congressional District seat.

Bauman believes Brindisi's views on protecting and defending Social Security and Medicare make him the better candidate for the district.

"The programs are always under some degree of threat. The incumbent in this area, in our opinion, has voted wrong in her tenure in Congress nine times out of 10," said Social Security Works PAC President Jon "Bowzer" Bauman.

Spectrum News is waiting for a response from Claudia Tenney's campaign.
