Syracuse Crunch fans attending Saturday's home opener got the first look at the newly-renovated War Memorial — and they like what they see.
After months of repairs, the $8.5 million project is complete.
The arena now offers upgraded restrooms, new concession stands, a state-of-the-art scoreboard, better lighting, and six luxury suites.
It also honors veterans with exhibits and displays.
Visitors say they love the new and improved fan experience.
"It's much brighter," said Diane Hofstetter, a Liverpool resident. "You can see much better. I mean it's the same seats, same position. It's just magnified."
"It's absolutely wonderful," said Steven Palmer, a Liverpool resident. "It's a great thing to bring your family and have a lot of fun."
Now visitors will be able to enjoy the new facility outside of the events.
Memorial Hall and the veterans' galleries will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
