FRANKFORT, N.Y. -- What is the latest update on the 5S South Business Park?

• The park has officially filled up. Work continues on the Tractor Supply Distribution Center and JBF Stainless buildings. A new truck stop called, "Higby Gold" will be built near the entrance to the park on Higby Road. 

How many jobs will be created?

• According to Herkimer County Industial Development Agency Executive Director John Piseck, the Tractor Supply Distribution Center is expected to hire 250 people by February. Eventually he expects JBF Stainless to hire 40-60 people, and the new truck stop to hire 40-50 people. Piseck said the truck stop will also include a restaurant. Piseck said 750-800 people in total will be employed at the park in the coming years. 

Is the Tractor Supply Distribution Center hiring?

How are they accommodating traffic?

• Studies have been done on the anticipated traffic flow. Ramps and new traffic lights are in place to help keep things moving smoothly and safely. 

What other areas is Herkimer County looking at for development? 

• Piseck said they're marketing a 30-acre property in Manheim that is permitted for a meat-processing plant. He said they would also like to market the former Union Tools site in Frankfort, and adds that the business park in Schuyler is almost sold out.
