It's been a memorable two weeks for local Olympian Erin Hamlin.

Her fourth and final Olympic games just wrapped up, and Tuesday morning, she arrived at Syracuse's Hancock Airport on her way home to Remsen.

PeyongChang was Hamlin's fourth and final Olympics, after nearly 20 years in the sport.

Her supporters say they couldn't be more proud of all she's accomplished.

Hamlin was also given the honor of carrying the American flag this year at opening ceremonies.

During her final run, family and friends got together at Adirondack Bank Center in Utica to watch their hometown hero compete one last time -- proud to represent her country, and her hometown.

"It's definitely amazing to represent my hometown and community and the whole area.  I've had an amazing time and having the support from home means the world.  It's been an honor for sure," Hamlin said.

Now even though she has retired, family says more excitement is coming as she's engaged to be married this summer.
