UTICA, N.Y. — Utica College's dome is now reinflated after collapsing last March during a massive snowstorm.

The new dome is being equipped with a heating system that goes through the middle of the dome on the inside up through the roof.

The goal is to help any snow and ice that accumulates melt.

The weight room in the new dome is bigger, as is the dome itself, now standing about 95 feet.

"It was 80 feet in the past. It will be a little bit more peak so hopefully it will promote the snow shed. The contents will be very similar: an eight-lane 200 meter track, four basketball courts in the middle of that track," said Utica College Athletics Director Dave Fontaine.

They're hoping to open the dome on February 1st.
