Marion Cornue can crochet multiple blankets in a single week.

You may wonder why someone would need so many blankets.

“How many blankets can I use? I have to give them away some place,” said Cornue.

Her blanket making has long been devoted to others in need. She has donated to Neonatal Associates, and over the last few years, she’s been making blankets for residents at long-term care facility Loretto.

“I think that would be neat to know somebody spent their time for me,” said Cornue.

Despite the fast production, these blankets are no ordinary blankets.

“I’ve always thought every stitch should be something. And what’s better than a hug?” said Cornue.

“You know, a blanket sort of hugs you," she said.

Marion’s blanket making motto is “every stitch is a hug," an important message for those getting it.

“When people are going to pass, she puts one of my blankets on their bed so their family has something. I thought that was so sweet,” said Cornue.

In the last few years, Marion has made more than 500 blankets and her goal is to keep going until she can’t anymore.

“It makes me feel good. It makes me feel good all over,” said Cornue.
