The streets of Skaneateles are lined with holiday decorations, and shopping is welcomed. But unlike past years, the gazebo, though decorated, is empty.

Though you may not see a Dickens Christmas in person this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, you can watch it virtually.

What You Need To Know

  • This is the 27th year of the Dickens Christmas festival

  • It will be held virtually on the village's social media pages

  • Typically, 50 actors participate

“We searched our hearts to find a solution for the particular circumstances of this year, and this is what we happily offer you,” said “Queen Elizabeth” on a Facebook video.

The Skaneateles festival is in its 27th year, and for the first time, it is a “Distant Dickens Christmas.”

The tradition typically features 50 actors. This year, actors will participate in short bits which will be featured on the village’s social media pages.

“Due to the great love for the community and for each and every one of you and for ourselves, of course, we have arrived at this decision that we can share all of the holiday joys with everyone virtually,” said “Charles Dickens.”
