According to the National Alliance of Mental Illness, a 2014 survey of people with mental illness found that 64% said the holidays made their condition worse. A 2021 survey showed that three in five Americans feel their mental health is negatively impacted by the holidays.
Allie Medina, clinical supervisor for Catholic Charities' Behavioral Health Clinic, has advice and a few tips that can help alleviate some of that holiday stress.
