Between shoveling, scraping and salting, winter storms are tiring. But they're not all bad. Fresh snow means, skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing.
Spectrum News 1’s Casey Bortnick traveled to Four Seasons Golf and Ski Center in Fayetteville to do some tubing, in this week's Empire Adventure.
If you haven't guessed by the name, Four Seasons offers activities like golf and batting cages in the spring, summer and fall.
This time of year it features six trails for skiing and snowboarding and was the first in New York to open tubing in 1996.
John Goodfellow is the owner and says the key to keeping this attraction running smoothly is the snow. About three feet is needed for optimal sliding.
"We have a 300 horsepower pump that can pump 300 gallons of water a minute," Goodfellow added.
When Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, Good can make snow.
As luck would have it, this adventure coincided with a field trip for the kids at Westhill Middle School. More information on Four Seasons including hours and pricing can be found here.
