Jamesville-DeWitt students will be able to get free school meals for the next four years, starting this fall.
The school district announced that all five district buildings reapplied for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Community Eligibility Provision Program, and all were approved. Previously, only three schools qualified, according to the district.
"The cost of living and inflation can be felt everywhere. We're hopeful that relief in this area will support our students and help them continue to thrive in school and at home," Superintendent Peter Smith said in a statement.
The free meals will be available to all students, regardless of family income.
