New York’s messy redistricting saga continues. Democratic lawmakers introduced legislation last night that would alter the map proposed by the Independent Redistricting Commission. So far no high-level Republicans have threatened to sue to stop the process. The question remains though when the Legislature will vote on it. Also, state lawmakers for years have considered the possibility of imposing term limits on themselves but so far none of those proposals or campaign promises have come to fruition. State Assemblymember Monica Wallace is proposing a constitutional amendment she believes has the right ingredients for support.
