New York's seven-day average COVID-19 positivity rate continues to decline.

Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced that Sunday's rate of 0.67 is the lowest since the start of the pandemic, lower than the 0.71% rate announced over the weekend. This marks eight straight weeks of declining seven-day average positivity rates.

"We continue to make progress and we are on the verge of defeating COVID-19 for good, but it's vital that we continue to get as many shots in arms as we can," Cuomo said in a statement. "We're establishing new pop-up sites across the state and are offering incentives to encourage those who haven't yet received a shot to take it. New Yorkers have fought this terrible virus every step of the way through an unimaginably difficult time, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but getting everyone vaccinated as soon as possible is critical to New York's future public health and economic recovery."

Hospitalizations continue to drop as well, falling to the lowest total since October 24. There are 1,032 New Yorkers hospitalized with COVID-19.

So far, 19,044,632 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered across New York, with 48,015 coming over the past 24 hours. Of New Yorkers 18 and older, 65.3% have received at least one vaccine dose, and 56.9% have completed their vaccine series. Among all age categories, 53.6% have received at least one dose and 45.7% have completed their vaccine series.
