The New York State Canal Corporation announced Monday morning that it is reopening several locks that were closed over the weekend due to high water levels.

The canal corporation closed the entire Oswego Canal from Lock O-1 in the village of Phoenix through Lock O-8 in Oswego Saturday. On Sunday, it was announced locks E-24, 25, 29, and 30 along the Erie Canal, as well as lock CS-1 along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal would be closed.

Locks E-29 and E-30 will remain closed for now, but the rest will reopen at noon Monday.

The canal corporation advises boaters to use caution and be aware of floating debris from recent heavy rainfall.

Some buoys may be off station due to flooding and crews are working to relocate them.
